Sunrise Through The Trees

I had every intention of sleeping in this morning.  I've looked forward to sleeping in for the past two days.  But, I woke up at 4:30.. AM...wwwwwhyyy?  I laid there in my warm bed willing myself to go back to sleep and I actually did doze off again. When my eyes fluttered open at 5:30, I knew it was fruitless to beg sleep to come back again, so I climbed out of bed. I brushed my teeth, made a cup of coffee, ruffled Sadie's fur and then headed downstairs to add some wood to the stove.  Unfortunately, our heat pump had a malfunction yesterday and needs a new part, our house was kept warm overnight from the wood stove in our basement. After loading the stove with wood and spending a few minutes to make sure everything was good with it, I came back upstairs.
Another cup of brew in hand, I stood looking out the window, my gaze was met by this beautiful sunrise.  I grabbed my camera and ran outside to snap a few photos before its spectacular colors faded into the warm sunny day we have. I would have missed this glorious sight... if I had slept in.

Hope your day is sunny

OK stunning photo... You have the gift... but doesn't 'Red sky in the morning Sailor's warning'... come to mind? Did you get bad weather?

And it is truly beautiful! I need to wake up earlier so I can be met with such a sight.

What a beautiful sight....GREAT photo Willa.....but I was so distracted by the use of your word "warm".... Really??? Argh.... I think I'm doomed to be trapped in the Polar Vortex for the rest of my days..... Wishing you sunny beautiful skies.....and, of course, Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin

You definitely received a blessing in waking up. That had to set the mood for the rest of your day. Hope you've since gotten your heat but to normal. I enjoy reading your beautiful writings as much as seeing your photos.
