Time's awasting

The title is a good Southern term for "hurry up...you're wasting time". I painted this item for my Etsy Shoppe last year but it never made it into my shoppe. At the time I decided I didn't like it so I took it apart with the intention of painting a different design on it. Hmmm, I don't know why I did that but the deed is done and now I need to think of something else to paint on this piece of wood. It's been sitting in my "to do" pile for over a year. I'm thinking I will turn it into a Christmas time piece. Wouldn't little mice be cute climbing up the chain...like "hickory dickory dock...?  Oooops, I digress...what I want to ask is...do you ever do something like this; you know put a lot of time and effort into something and then "think" you don't like it so you discard it, or set it aside for something else?  I'm not sure why I decided I didn't like this; maybe it's because I don't really decorate for halloween (more so for fall) so I couldn't appreciate how it could be used. It's designed to look like a very large pocket watch; the face is about 6 inches in diameter. It would be cute draped around a dining room chair or coat rack; possibly draped around the knobs of an old cupboard; most of you could probably visualize its use better than me.  This whole effort seemed wasted.

I don't like wasting time, but I do it anyway.  I wonder if we could count all the time we waste how much time would ring up on the "time wasted meter".  I shutter to think about that number. What if we had to give account for every moment we wasted when we stand before God...that's even more frightening and creates a shutter that ripples all the way to my toes.  When I think about this, I am so thankful I have an Advocate who reminds God that I am merely human and His sacrifice covered all my unworthiness with His Worth.
