Keep the Faith..Don't Give Up

Adversity is not discriminating

It doesn't matter color, creed, gender, financial status, religious standing or any other human condition, it comes knocking at everyone's door sooner or later

And often at the most inopportune time.

There is no hiding place

And no detours around it.

When adversity takes you down its path, it won't announce how long the road will be like the sign in the photo above.

I've not mentioned it on my blog, FB or any of the other social media network
and few people know...

My husband has been unemployed since the end of December.  We knew it was coming for a few months.

But

Prior to knowing this was going to happen, we systematically paid off as much debt as we could

Prior to this happening, We cinched in our financial belt and saved as much of our paychecks as possible

Prior to this happening, we steadied ourselves

Prior to this happening we prayed

Prior to this happening we had faith

Prior to this happening, we gave and helped others

We did what we could

After my  husband lost his job

It would have been easy to fall apart

But

We remained steady
We continued to pray
We continued to have faith
We continued to give and help others

But....

We had times of discouragement.  My husband applied for job after job, he had interview after interview but someone else was selected. There were several hopefuls that never panned out, many promising leads that ended up nowhere.

We wondered why is this happening to us and then remembered why wouldn't it happen to us.

I believe God gave us foresight about this before it happened and helped us prepare.  We listened and made the necessary steps.  I had my ups and down times but I never wavered in my faith that God would see us through this time.

And He did bring us through!  My Sweetie started his new job last Monday.

We learned a few things going through this...but that's another post for another time.  But I will share this, faith is not the ability to pray the best prayer so God will hear us.  Faith is not looking for the answer we think we should get from God. Faith is not "having it all about us".  I found during this time, and other times of my life when I have faced struggles, that faith is the firm trust in God and His answer.

Whatever you are going through, don't loose faith and don't give up.

You have had strength and resolve, I don't know of many who come through with such grace. I hope this will be the best job ever. Many, many good wishes for good times ahead.

Congrats on your hubby's new job! Been in this situation many times over 25 years and am familiar with the fear, the faith, the thankfulness. As long as you have your health, and your faith, you can always always start over. God Bless! ~*~Lisa

Wonderful Post, Willa!
I often need to remind myself, not to lose Faith.
Somedays can be harder than others.
Lord knows, I've been given more than I can handle through the years, but I always managed to find my way through it. So Glad your Hubby has found a new job!
I will be Praying for you both!
Take Care!

Nicely written and maybe your faith and patience and giving nature will help any of us when faced with similar hardships. I've been there and know that as hard as it gets God helps you through it. Happy you're on the upward swing!

You have the best analogies Willa. That road is so much scarier because we have no measure of how far we've been in comparison to where it will end. I'm glad you've made it to the end and turned onto a new path. Congratulations to your husband and his new adventure. I hope you can look back and feel good knowing your strong and smart, you prepared and prevailed! It's been a rough time for us over the last 8 years and I'm keeping faith that things are going to be better soon. Thanks for writing this and encouraging others like me. Big Hugs Sweetie!!
