To Paint or Not to Paint

I have a weekend project I'm working on. It's a simple project...

I think...

maybe..

hopefully.

You know how projects can go, you expect it to take 2 hours and 6 hours later..it's still not finished, it might even be in the trash can.  I've had a few of those.

I purchased these glass canisters a couple of years ago and I'm ready for a change.  I don't want to buy more, I want to change these...

But... I can't decide what I want to do with them.

So...

the question is...

Option ONE
Paint the entire outside surface with a pastel color?

OR

Option TWO
Paint the center section with black chalkboard paint and leave the rest clear glass?

I'm going for a cottage style...

less modern

more farm~style cottage

So..

I am asking my blogging village for your input

Which option do you think would best reflect the farm~style cottage?

Option ONE

      OR

Option TWO

Here's a photo of them all cleaned up and ready to go..

Hopefully...

I can posts the finished photos on Monday.

Happy Weekend

My option would be number 2. I LoVe the look of the blackboard label. Have fun!

painting the lids black is a good look, milkwash look with cottage green lids, I have some jars about that size that trail mix comes in from target that I'm thinking of doing a burlap around the jar using the label as a pattern, with ribon or homespun tied around the muddle, then I thought about the same look only with scrape paper & a label oh how the thinking is endless once it starts lol!

Hello Willa,
I'm wondering if you've seen the latest from Create and Decorate magazine? On FB the other day there was a lovely photo of a simple floral pattern done in white on blue ball jars.......oh if I could paint that's what I'd do. I have a few of the same jars you are wanting to change too but they are kept in the cupboard for now. I'm sure whichever you choose to do will be beautiful!
Blessings,
Sheila

I like the chalkboard label idea. I just did 1 gallon jars with vinyl labels.

I'd go with the chalkboard and also paint the lids a distressed black.

I think a farmhouse label on the front of them would be beautiful, then you could chalk board the tops. I can't wait to see what you do, no matter, they will be beautiful,
