If Life Gives You Snow....

Make a snowman.  We were forecasted to have snow today but it looks like it bypassed us and stayed South and West of us.  I'm trying to decide if I'm happy about it or not.  Hey, if it's going to snow, I'd rather it be on the weekend.

And what better to go with snow than a cup of Joe and some Cinnamon Snickerdoodle Cookies.

Snicker Doodles
 1 1/2 cups of sugar
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup shortening
2 eggs
2 3/4 cups of flour
2 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
2 tsp cinnamon

sugar mix for dipping dough in: 3/4 cup of sugar, 1/2 tsp of cinnamon; mix and set aside

Heat oven to 400.
Mix sugar, butter, shortening and eggs in a large bowl.
Mix flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, salt and cinnamon in a separate bowl then add to creamed ingredients.
Shape dough into a rounded ball then press into sugar mix.
Place 2 inches apart on a baking sheet and bake for 8-10 mins.

These are some of our favorite cookies at The Old Cupboard Door

We sure haven't had any snow to brag about this year. Desperately need it in our area of Idaho......
I haven't made Snicker Doodles in years. They sound good and I might just make a batch on this cold Sunday morning!
Blessings,
Sheila

We are watching our snow gradually slink back away from the trees. I'm sharing this recipe with my husband, it's his favorite kind of cookie too.
