Surprise...

You can imagine the surprise my Sweetie and son felt when they happened upon this pair of copperheads in our garage.  They were putting away some tools we were using earlier.  I had intended to be the tool "putter-upper" but decided to go in the house and clean the kitchen while my Sweetie put them away.  My son came out to our work area while the tools were being gathered and helped my husband carry them to the garage.  As my husband was walking around the car my son noticed one copperhead in my husbands path and yelled for him to stop.  My Sweetie grabbed a shovel and beheaded it and out slithered copperhead #2  from among the garden tools.  Whack! another head rolls. I certainly am glad that man is quick on the draw! When they walked into the kitchen their eyes were big and a "I can't believe it" smile was on their faces; they had a story to share. I was alarmed about the first snake but when my son told me that another one sidewindered out in a rush, well, my eyes became big too.

After their demise my Sweetie tossed them to the edge of the driveway intending for them to be consumed or carried off by one of the nocturnal creatures in our area but my son decided to skin them and dry their hides.  So at the moment there are 2 headless snake carcasses in my fridge.

This reminds me of the movie "Snakes on a Plane" where Samuel L Jackson says "I'm tired of these monkey fighting snakes on this Monday to Friday Plane"...that's the TV dubbed in version...LOL!

Til Next Time...

Ewww, I would say they are very brave and quick minded. I would have run screaming in another direction.

We had copperheads in Kentucky, that's one thing I don't miss about my home field. Always heard where there was one, you will find another.

Those are pretty big ones. We have lots of copperheads as well. Hate, hate, hate them!

SERIOUSLY now Mizz Willa, your favorite expression comes to life! How many times have I heard you utter the words "Off with their heads" LOL!

A tiny garden snake sends me a runnin', your Sweetie certainly is a man of action. ;-D

Happy ending to that scenario.
