Home Sweet Home!

There is nothing like coming home when you have been away for a while. There is a rush of joy at coming through the door and feeling the warmth of home and the love of family that greet you. I am so glad to be home, to sleep in my own bed, to cook some homemade "vittles", do laundry that doesn't cost a fortune, sit on my porch and dream of my cottage garden, play with the dog....I am happy to be home!

While I was away I made a list of things I want to accomplish when I finally got home. These chairs are on that list. I've been looking for a couple of chairs to pair with a vintage gate-leg table that I've had for several years. I've been on the lookout for them at some of my favorite vintage and antique stores. Just before I left on my business trip I found these chairs for 35.00 for both; what a deal. I know they look in dire need of an update and that's just what they are going to receive. I don't really care for the brown fabric on them or the color of the stain; so what am I going to do? I will paint the wood, of course, and then change the fabric. I bought some fabric about 7 or 8 years ago at Joanne’s Fabric store. I've been saving it to re-upholster a chair but never worked up the courage to do it. I think that fabric would look great on these chairs! I knew it would come in handy one of these days. Sorry I don't have the after story yet. I need a weekend to work on this; hopefully you will be seeing the after photos next week so stay tuned!
Enjoy your day!

Oh I so agree! I love to travel but really enjoy coming home too. Makes you appreciate all that you have and the comfort a true home really is to a person. Cant wait to see what you do with the chairs.

They look like they have good bones and would be a fun makeover. I'm sure you will come up with something pretty for your cottage re-do!
