I'm Still Here!

I know this is a rhetorical question...but...have you ever had a week where you couldn't get anything done because of life happening? I have had a week like that. My collegiate daughter was home for a couple of days while she was on her spring break. A few days later my husband’s nephew and his family were here for a couple of days. Between all the shopping with my daughter and all the cleaning for the nephew's arrival, I haven't painted for my Etsy shop or blogged in over a week. Well, I did manage to finish a couple of orders and a swap item for a message board I visit daily. I don't know where my time goes. I don't feel that I fritter it away but lately I'm not as productive as I normally am. I am involved in activities outside the home throughout the week but I don't consider that "frittering". I attend one prayer meeting at our church each week and a Bible study. Those do take up most of my Tuesday. I attend a personal Bible study with a friend on Thursday. We usually go to lunch so you know we are in no hurry to finish. One Saturday a month I volunteer time with Angel Food Ministry, another Saturday I attend the women's meeting at my church (I haven't been as faithful to that as I should but I'm trying to do better). Of course there are daily and weekly chores that need to be done around the house as well as errands that need to be taken care of. I'm up at 7AM and in bed anywhere from 11:30 til midnight. Honestly, there is still more than enough time to finish the things I want to get done...done! I would love to paint 2 items a day for my Etsy shop but it never happens, well, it did one time but I haven't managed to do it again. I really need to take a look at my time and see where it is going. Maybe I should have entitled this "Time". When you want it to speed up, it goes as slow as molasses; when you want it to slow down, it jumps to warp. The faster you try to get something done, the slower it happens. You try to save a minute and you end up paying double for it. I actually have a post saved talking about time...maybe one day I will find the time to finish it. The clock is ticking; I'd better get back to painting. Thanks for taking the time to read my blog; it means a lot to me! Enjoy your day and may time be perfect for you today.

By the way, time is running out on my give away, if you haven't already signed up for it, click on the icon to the left and follow the rules.

I did wonder where you were, Willa... but sometimes I think it's good that life gets in the way of technology once in a while. I hope you enjoyed your time with your daughter, I'm sure it's precious to you when you are together. You sound like me and my girlfriend when we go out to lunch or breakfast...sometimes we leave a little extra tip because we dawdle so long I feel bad for the waitress!
Have a wonderful time painting and enjoying the slower pace for a change!
Blessings,
Tracey

This week especially feels like that here. DH is on spring break so he is underfoot and with the new Prim Pal forum only a week old, I have been busy trying to put new things on to keep it interesting. I would love to have just a week to myself to just create.... until then... maybe next week will be better. :)

Hope you have a wonderful day! *hugs*

I hear you. Sometimes I feel like I am "dancing around" a project instead of just doing it. YOur house sounds like my as of late. I too have a son in college who was home all last week, and then my daughter, grandson and her dog all moved in last Friday. SURPRISE! But you know what? It's all a good thing. And you and I will both still make the time to do what we love...create. :)
Warm Wishes
Dawn

I think we all feel what you are feeling Willa....at least I know I do. But I keep trying to live in the moment and enjoy it....I always have an "agenda" that is imposssible for any human being to accomplish....yet I beat my self up asking where all my time goes.....When my kids were growing up I lived by the clock.....managing my time to fit in everything between all 3 of their schedules....so now I work for me.....I need to learn that I don't punch a clock each day.....to slow down and just enjoy the day and the moment for each day is a GIFT.....thats why it is called the PRESENT
Hugs,
Lynn

I know exactly how you feel. I find myself wondering where the time went a lot lately! Now that the weather is getting nice I know I will be wanting to get outside and that will add something else into the schedule :)

It is hard to believe that we are almost into April. Thank you, Jesus that Spring is here and we have flowers to smell. Time is fleeting and there is just never enough of it! Enjoy your blog so much. Keep up your wonderful painting! Take Care and God Bless! Donna, countercrafts, gmills4@suddenlink.net

Girl, those are similar to the hours I keep. I'm up by 6:30 and always to bed after midnight through the week. I love how you fill your time though. That's wonderful that you do the Bible studies and volunteer. My time is precious too because it is filled with three young kids, but at times I really desire girl time and Bible time.
