Deck the Halls With Boughs of Holly

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.  We broke from the traditional meal of turkey, dressing, sweet potato casserole and the rest of the trimmings and made a lasagna instead.  I must admit I enjoyed having less work in the kitchen with the prep and clean up!  My husband made a pecan pie and I made a pumpkin pie so we didn't break completely from tradition.

Now, it's time to trim the tree.  We are hauling out the Christmas tree and decs from the basement and second floor storage today.  I know a lot of people have already put up their Christmas decs but I still like to wait until Thanksgiving has passed.  I think I will keep things simple this year and only put out my favorite pieces.

The snowmen ornaments above are one of my favourite ornaments.  They were made from a wooden ball and felt for the hats....so simple to make.   Simplicity is my motto this Christmas season.  BTW you can find a tutorial for these snowie ornies here at The Old Cupboard Door..just click here .

As you can see I love to make snowmen ornies!

Till next time....

I don't like to decorate before Thanksgiving either but I have begun to now. It's even a little early for me but that's ok. I'm trying to do "less is more" too.

Love your snowmen ornies.

We also opted for non-traditional food this Thanksgiving: pork chops, lol! The snowman ornies are darling. Thank you for the tutorial also :)
