Beachy Toes...
Our family went to Virginia Beach last week. My son, Nick, was a participant in the "Rock and Roll Half" marathon and the family was there to support him. I am happy to report that he finished the event in just a little over 3 hours. I know that means he wasn't among the 1st group to cross the finish line but he finished the run and I'm proud of him. There were over 15,000 participants but less than 10,000 finished. He's done the 5K and the 10K, this was his first half marathon. We met him around the 10 mile mark and was surprised to see he was holding up quiet well. Kudos to Nick, I couldn't have done it.
We rented a house during our stay in VA Beach, while it wasn't ocean front it was only a 4 or 5 minute walk to the beach. Hot and humid ruled the day, but hey, it was the beach with the kind of weather we expected for this time of year. The kids had a great time. They enjoyed walking on the beach to look for sea shells in the morning and swimming in the ocean in the afternoon, I enjoyed it too.
Til next time...
